Sources

Every entry lists the sources it is based on. We do not publish claims about living people that we cannot source. We write in our own words and never copy text from other sites.

Who gets a page

We only write about people who are historical figures or who present themselves publicly in the rope world — by teaching, performing, organizing events or publishing work under their name. We never name private members of communities or groups.

Corrections, claims and removal

Anyone can suggest a correction from any page. If a page is about you, you can ask us to correct it or to remove it; use the claim form and we will act on it promptly.

AI assistance

Drafts are prepared with AI assistance from cited sources, checked claim by claim against those sources, and reviewed by an editor before publication. The "last reviewed" date on each page shows when that happened.

Safe for work

The site contains no nudity or explicit imagery. Historical artwork is only shown when it is in the public domain.

Names and spelling

Japanese words use Hepburn romanization with macrons (Itō, hojōjutsu). Japanese personal names are written family name first, as they are used in the rope community, with the Western order listed as an alias.
